Darren Flecther has started for Manchester United's U21 side in their clash with Fulham tonight. The midfield ace has only played 13 matches since December 2011 as he has been sidelined with a chronic inflammatory bowel condition and his return to action will act as a major boost for David Moyes' side.
The Scottish international last played for the first-team on Boxing day of last year and will soon be hoping to join up with the side as they look to improve on their poor start to the season.
And, with Fletcher having now returned to the United set-up, Moyes may turn to him to partner Michael Carrick in the centre of midfield.
The Red Devils have had a number of problems over the past couple of years in the middle of the park and, with Marouane Fellaini yet to settle at Old Trafford, the return of Fletcher will act as welcome news to the United faithful.
United's first-team take on Norwich City in the Capital One Cup tomorrow as Moyes' side look to make it three straight wins in all competitions.
