Novak Djokovic must decide.

Written by Stuntmaster.

Novak Djokovic is arguably the best player in the world (World no 1) at the moment despite three staright losses to Rafael Nadal at various finals.
He recently stated his desire to finish the year as the world no 1 but fortunately, its all in his hands.

By saying this, I mean he has lost all three finals as a result of his own doing (Unforced errors). In my opinion, Djokovic  is certainly the better player (compared to Nadal) but needs to change his trainer. This is because Djokovic  has lost most games this season due to his own unforced errors which should have been corrected by his coach.

We have seen cases where top tennis players take the bold step to fire their coach and things turn out positive for them (Ex: Andy Murray).. "I'm still No. 1 of the world in the rankings, but he (Nadal) has more chances to end up [at year's end] as No. 1," Djokovic said. "Look, there are still tournaments to go. We'll see. I will just try to prepare myself for China." Djokovic's next outing will be at the China Open in Beijing, starting September 30, followed by the Shanghai Rolex Masters. he is the defending champion at both events.

People may question the timing as the Tennis season slowly nears the end, but I think "a stitch in time saves nine". If Djokovic really wants to retain his No 1 ranking, he may just have to move his coach on.
