Mathieu Flamini Back for Arsenal's Crystal Palace Trip

Mathieu Flamini will give Arsenal a major fitness boost for the trip to Crystal Palace. The midfielder missed the Borussia Dortmund defeat in midweek with concussion but has been passed fit while Jack Wilshere is a doubt because of an ankle injury.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: “Flamini is available. He had no basic injury - it was just a precaution. Wilshere will be checked later by the medical people and we'll see if I will involve him or not.

“Flamini has been important in the balance of our team. We are happy to have him back.”

Wenger expressed great affection for Ian Holloway who left Crystal Palace this week and Keith Millen will take charge of the Arsenal game with Tony Pulis red-hot favourite to get the job.

Wenger said: “I feel that it's very harsh on Ian Holloway because he has done exceptionally well with Crystal Palace to get them up to the Premier League.

“It's very difficult to do that and I find it very quick and very early to separate with Ian Holloway. For me, he has exceptional talent to manage a football team.”

“I watched it the other night and I heard that they wanted to go for a manager with experience. Tony Pulis is one of them and of course if he gets there he will certainly play his way and demand huge commitment. He has done well at Stoke in the way he wants to play the game he has been very efficient.

“I respect every style of play. I believe you can only be a good manager if you play with your guts and your gut feeling and that can be different. But you can only be good if you're completely in accordance with the way you see the game and he has done a fantastic job at Stoke."
